Senior Data Engineer at PBT Group

Job Description

• PBT is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data solutions that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL, SSIS, and exposure to Informatica, with a strong understanding of data architecture, ETL pipelines, and database structures. This role involves hands-on development, stakeholder engagement, and contribution to the evolution of the data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new data models, stored procedures, views, and table structures.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS and Informatica.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Conduct data profiling, validation, and documentation to ensure data integrity and usability.
• Participate in solution design and contribute to technical architecture decisions.
• Implement automated deployment frameworks and task scheduling components.
• Create and execute unit and system tests to ensure successful delivery into production.
• Manage UAT processes and facilitate sign-offs through change control procedures.
• Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve system flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Support data operations and analytics teams with infrastructure and tooling.
• Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and governance throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and SSIS.
• Experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and pipeline architecture.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
• Familiarity with automated deployment tools and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to big data technologies and cloud-based data platforms.
