The role involves leading complex reliability and toil reduction initiatives, making data-driven decisions to define and maintain appropriate service levels that balance customer, development, and operational needs.
The Engineer will serve as an escalation point during major incidents and will be responsible for completing the migration of existing applications and services to Microsoft Azure, ensuring production-grade reliability, security, and CI/CD deployment through Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
Influence the definition and management of service level objectives (SLOs)
Demonstrate expertise in observability tools and techniques
Act as an escalation point during major incidents
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot system and application performance issues
Migrate workloads to Azure, including compute (VMs, Functions), storage, and networking
Configure and optimize Azure Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, Service Bus, and Service Principals for secure and automated operations
Implement and manage resource groups, role-based access control (RBAC), and tagging for cost management and governance
Contribute to and maintain knowledge documentation
Requirements
Deep technical understanding of observability techniques across the full stack; able to clarify complex incidents and performance issues
Ability to create templated observability dashboards and configurations as code for easy implementation across products
