Brief description
The main purpose of this position is to conduct climate-related analyses and to support the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) involvement in the climate-related work of the Group of Twenty (G20) and the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). The position is ideal for an experienced economist with knowledge of central banking and a keen interest in understanding the implications of rising climate-related risks on the SARB’s price and financial stability mandates. Successful candidates will work closely with senior bank managers in developing South Africa’s G20 programme for 2025 and/or support South Africa’s participation in the NGFS.
