    Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (EPC Mining Process Plants – PrEng/Pr.Tech) - Sandton

    • The incumbent will be responsible for E&I and control systems project engineering, design, product development, procurement, installation and commissioning of projects; locally and abroad.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering,
    • Pr.Eng/Pr.Tech. registered
    • Relevant post graduate qualifications albeit technical, management or business related could be advantageous.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 6 years’ experience within the field of E&I and control systems engineering and construction.
    • At least 4 years plant commissioning experience.

    Knowledge required:

    • E&I (HV, MV & LV) and control systems design, deliverables, construction and application in large industrial plants.
    • Industry codes/standards and inter departmental practices and procedures.
    • In depth understanding of drawings, specifications, networks and communication.
    • Pricing, tendering and budgeting principles, tools and control.
    • Computer spread sheets and other MS office applications.
    • Safety consciousness and application of good practice health and safety.

    Skills:

    • Self-starter, ability to work under pressure, results and delivery orientated.
    • Organisational skills like planning, project management and prioritising ability.
    • Commercial awareness and sound written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to interpreted written computer software and be able to design/develop from concept new control systems.
    • Interpret drawings and specifications for internal, client and contractor use.
    • Innovation in problem solving and creativity with new ideas.
    • Listening to, interpreting and understanding feedback from clients and team members.
    • Team leadership, Team player and interpersonal motivational skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
    • Planning, design, specification, costing, procurement, reporting, construction, commissioning and handover on E&I and control system packages.
    • Provide technical leadership to all dependent project disciplines.
    • Management of suppliers and sub-contractors.
    • Maintain the ECSA professional registration and manage own development.
