Senior Engineer, Civil - Lephalale at Exxaro Resources

PURPOSE:

To deliver expert technical support in engineering discipline in projects and to contribute effectively to the development of the business growth and operations.

Minimum Requirements    

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BEng Civil Engineering (Essential/Minimum or)
• BSc Civil Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
• Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

• 6-8 years Civil design, maintenance, hazard identification, risk assessment, procurement, project engineering, contract and project management Essential/Minimum Operational

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• Engineering Council of SA (PrEng) (Essential/Minimum

Duties & Responsibilities    

POSITION OUTPUTS:

The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:

Best Practice and Knowledge Management

• Protection of Intellectual property
• Create and manage professional networks
• Participate in engineering forums, tertiary educational relationships, professional external forums, relevant Communities of Practice (COP's) 
• and in the innovation process

Business Performance and Operations

• Support service delivery within department and project budget parameters
• Technical contribution in area of expertise based on sound principles
• Increase awareness of technological advancements to ensure access to appropriate technology to meet business deliverables and expand 
• technical base to access new areas of business
• Ensure design for operability and maintainability
• Adhere to appropriate quality management systems
• Ensure skills and technology communication to business units.

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

• Support technology capabilities involved in project execution and delivery within engineering discipline
• Ensure compliance to sound engineering standards and quality
• Ensure that a standardised approach to service delivery is followed within discipline
• Ensure compliance to all standards and procedures
• Support the execution of discipline and project strategy
• Comply to metrics and targets for business process structure
• Participate in new fit for purpose discipline specific projects in support of the Company’s strategic objectives

Customer and Client Relationship Management

• Provide expert technical support and direction to project teams and business units
• Identify needs and support line management with technical issues

Effective People Management

• Adhere to the systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence
