Senior Environmental Scientist : Johannesburg, Midrand at International Association for Impact Assessment South Africa

Job Description: 

• Project management and compiling Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Management Programmes (EMPr), Borrow-pit application, undertake S24G Rectification Application.
• Deliver Waste Management Projects -IWMP, Waste Classification, Waste Licence Application/ permitting, Industrial Symbiosis.
• Undertake WUL applications, fieldwork, develop technical reporting.
• Undertake strategic Environmental/ Waste Management projects i.e., EMF, Review of Environmental and waste by-laws, developing feasibilities, etc. 
• Client liaison, authority, and stakeholder management.
• Proven record on Air Quality Projects i.e., Dust Monitoring, AQMP, AIR, LADR, Carbon Tax, etc.
• Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
• Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
• To provide strategic planning for Sustainability, & Growth Model, pivoted towards Business Development and Bidding.
• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc.; and
• Deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.

Qualifications, experience and requirements:

• Registration with EAPASA is mandatory. 
• Minimum BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science or equivalent science degree.
• Registered with SACNASP will be added advantage. 
• Excellent background on Air Quality Management & strategic Environmental / Waste Management project.
• At least 8-12 years relevant experience in the industry.
• Proven track record / experience in environmental consulting space.
• Understanding of the importance and use of document control and ISO systems.
• Driver’s license and ability to drive is mandatory.
