Senior Financial Accountant at Santam Insurance

THE ROLE

• A position for a Senior Financial Accountant exists in Santam Re & International, based in Glacier Place, Tygervalley.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

• To execute all financial aspects of outwards reinsurance, including the accounting of reinsurance transactions and preparing of financial reports.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

• Manage accounting for all underwriting and other financial transactions relating to outwards reinsurance in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”).
• Compilation of financial reports relating to outwards reinsurance.
• Manage financial accounting queries from stakeholders
• Provide accounting support and guidance to the business and rest of the Santam Outwards Reinsurance Finance Team
• Manage and improve current procedures and controls for financial reporting for outwards reinsurance
• Manage ad hoc Santam Outwards Reinsurance financial projects
• Manage issues identified and drive resolution.
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the various stakeholders
• Manage tight monthly deadlines critical to overall Group Reporting timetable
   

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/SAIPA/CA)
• 3-4 years’ experience in a financial role
