Senior Financial Analyst at Abbott

Primary Objective Of Position

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly operating results to head office for Africa for ADD.
• Guarantees the timeliness and accuracy of monthly reports.
• Prepares plan and updated figures for Africa and ensures accurate and timeous submission.
• Ensures compliance with ADD’s (Abbott Diagnostics) internal financial policies and procedures.
• Provides support to all other departments being AMD, ADC & CFS.

Major Responsibilities

• Documenting processes, and key controls to identify process improvement.
• Prepare, coordinate and report the divisional monthly results to local and Area management.
• Analyses Financial Statements
• Prepares Performance Decks for Collections tracking across Africa, BDR (Bad Debt Reserves) performance, Margin Analysis, and Expense Management.
• Incorporates the planned financial performance into the Plan package, Last Business Estimate & monthly reviews.
• Develop an analysis of economic indicators in order to prepare forecasts and analyze the company's short (Latest Business Estimate) & medium-term position (budget plans).
• Supports preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations with back-up documentation that is prepared by IFO (Internal Financial Services) /CFS (Central Finance Services)
• Ensure monitoring of DSO and receivables in line with approved plans/updates
• Ensure compliance with procedures, that tracking and movement of instruments is appropriately documented with all supporting documentation in place.
• Reconciles instruments to all instrument tracking platforms to ensure completeness and existence of instruments in the market.
• Complete asset verification minimum of once a year for all Africa sites.
• Analyses performances of boxes and reports on profitability
• Reviews loan instrument product profitability’s, and sale instrument profitability models by Commercial Team to validate instrument performance against EPIC planned performance
• Develop Basic Operating Procedures for all functions and ensure that they are updated on a regular basis.
• Preparation of monthly Flash PnL for the division
• Preparation of month-end commentary and reporting
• Other Adhoc deliverables related to finance that may be required

Education

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Accounting/Finance.
• CA(SA) 0-2 Years’ Experience Advantageous
• SAP, HFM & TM1 Experience preferred
• Advanced Excel Skills

Experience

• 3 to 5 years accounting and commercial/business consulting experience – including articles
• 1 to 3 years Multinational exposure preferable in FP&A role.
