Senior Geologist, Exploration - Sandton at Ivanhoe Mines

By having to collect, process and interpret geological data relevant to the mineral assets of the company. You will have to supervise and monitor drilling rigs/drilling contractors and upskill junior staff and assistants. 

You will have the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Geology/Exploration Geology with 
• Some exposure to the Bushveld geology environment highly advantageous, being 
• Fluent in English, with Afrikaans and Pedi advantageous, as well as 
• 2 years experience in exploration geology. 

Preferably you will have:

• A Post Graduate degree in Geology/Exploration Geology 

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Technical report writing
• Exploration data collection and interpretation 
• Quality Assurance 

Technical Skills should include:

• GID software

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 
Process: support diamond core drilling on PalRho licenses

• Deliver o the operating plan by supporting the diamond core drilling 
• Collect and prepare geological samples
• Interpret geological data to inform geological maps and mineral resource models
