Job Purpose    

• To execute internal control verification to all Municipal Departments and all associated Companies, Trusts and Entities in terms of the Municipal Finance Management Act No. 56 OF 2003 and also undertakes 100% verification of Payroll.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Executes assisgnments in accordance with Internal Control Plan for the Ethekwini Municipality and all associated Companies/Trust and Entities.
• Undertakes Payroll financial controls, verifying all daily pay capture by the Payroll Department.
• Compiles and references Internal Control and Departments working papers.
• Documents the findings of the Payroll verificiation process.
• Conducts follow-ups on agreed Internal Control Departments recommendations.
• Attends seminars/conferences/workshops/training courses to keep abreast of new developments.
• Deputises for the Financial Officer as required.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Auditing or Accounting
• Valid motor driving licence.
• 3 Years relevant experience
• Computer Literacy

Preferred Requirements    

• B Com (NQF Level 7) or equivalent in Auditing or Accounting
• 4 Years relevant experience
