Job Summary
- This role involves managing, analysing and interpreting spatial and operational data to support forestry operations, resource planning, timber traceability and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Process, analyse, and model GIS data to support forestry operations and planning
- Compile, organise, integrate, and maintain spatial data from various sources
- Convert mapping resources into standardised digital formats
- Digitise and validate spatial data from aerial photography and satellite imagery
- Perform spatial analysis and modelling to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of spatial datasets through quality assurance and control processes

Qualifications and Skills
- Matric / Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Forestry, or a related field
- Relevant field experience in spatial data collection, mapping, or GIS-related activities
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant environment involving the sourcing, processing, and management of spatial data
- Experience in the forestry, agriculture, or environmental sectors (advantageous)
- Exposure to spatial data collection and mapping projects (advantageous)

- Map production and cartographic design skills
