Senior Lecturer: Department of Secondary and Post-School Education at Rhodes University

Main Objectives

• All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research), community engagement, and professional involvement in their field beyond the university, recognizing differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties.  Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty, and/or University levels.

The Requirements

Senior Lecturer

A PhD in Education relevant to Educational Leadership and Management (ELM), and:

• At least three years of experience in Teacher Education
• At least two years of experience in schools
• Teaching experience in Education Studies (e.g. Psychology, Sociology or Philosophy of Education)
• Research supervision experience at PhD level
• Track record in administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).
