Senior Lecturer: 

• Academic route: Doctoral degree in Law. Candidate should be in possession of a Doctor of Laws degree or PHD in Law coupled with five years teaching experience in a higher education institution or seven years relevant professional experience. Candidate should further have three publications in accredited journals or book chapters or a book.
• Professional route: Candidate should be in possession of a Master of Laws degree coupled with an admission as an attorney or advocate. Candidate admitted as an attorney must attach proof of admission as an attorney and candidates who are admitted as advocates must attach proof of admission into the pupillage. Candidate should also have ten (10) years post admission practice experience.  Candidates appointed through the professional route will be appointed on a five-year contract basis with the provision that the appointment will be converted to permanent upon attainment of a Doctoral degree within the five-year period of appointment.

Lecturer:

Academic route: A Master of Laws degree coupled with 2 years teaching experience.

Professional route: A Master of Laws degree coupled with five years post admission experience. Candidate should be admitted attorney or an admitted advocate.

Duties:

• To teach undergraduate modules in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Administration of Estates, International Trade Law, Information and Communications Technology Law, Competition Law and postgraduate students' modules in the Department of Mercantile Law.
• To demonstrate exemplary leadership in the Department of Mercantile and Private Law.
• To conduct research and supervise postgraduate students.
• To coordinate programmes, develop the curriculum and establish linkages with other academic institutions, community structures and be actively involved in community engagement initiatives.
