The incumbent will lead, manage, direct and improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of TNPA excellence and efficiency objectives. They will be responsible for executing the ICT Strategy, Methodology and Framework for all operational systems (e.g SAP, Integrated Port Management Systems (IPMS) etc.) The incumbent will be responsible for owning and directing improvement projects related to the operational systems. They will be responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance, and development activities for TNPA business applications and, researching latest trends on business systems and optimize value to TNPA.
Position Outputs
Improve the operational systems (e,g,SAP, IPMS, and own inhouse systems ) to support of TNPAs strategic objectives.
Support better utilisation of all systems by providing a resilient backbone on which to run critical systems
Lead and manage execution of strategies for the service delivery of SAP ERP and non-ERP applications across TNPA application portfolio.
Manage Service Delivery using an informed approach to improve outcomes for ICT customers utilising business applications.
Ensure quality of practice meets contractual operational level agreements (OLAs), legal obligations and Transnet/TNPA policies and procedures.
Coordinate and participate in monitoring, review and audit processes related to Service Delivery Business Applications
Identify and evaluate issues impacting on achievement of Business Application objectives and to continue to improve services.
Manage ITIL based incident, problem, configuration management, and ensure release and version control standards are implemented across all business application systems.
Takes a leadership role in setting service direction, ensures standards and security policies are maintained and systems and solutions are compatible with TNPA standard information systems architecture, tools, policies, and procedures.
Develops support plans and implementation strategies to meet the ICT needs of all end users
To manage application budgets effectively
To manage change due to change in applications across the business
To manage all contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers and partners in providing efficient service for the Applications supported.
To manage availability, reliability and efficiency of business applications
To develop application roadmaps in line with TNPA applications standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Financial Information Systems/ Business Information or Post Graduate Diploma in IT. ITIL Certification 8 years' experience in at least two ICT disciplines in a multi-tier environment, with which 3 years' experience at management or specialist role.
At least 2 years’ experience in systems development role.
Experience guiding delivering large scale technology initiatives and implementing current technology trends and techniques, with strong emphasis on digital services and cloud technologies. R.O.C With relevant certificates or no formal qualification, at least 10 years' experience in at least two ICT disciplines in a multi-tier environment, with which 5 years' experience at management or specialist role.
