Senior Manager Financial Accounting at Amatola Water

Minimum Qualification:

• BCom Degree majoring with Accounting/Financial Accounting or Finance (NQF Level 7)

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years Management and Financial Accounting experience, including 3 years of payroll management

Professional Registration:

• Chartered Accountant (South Africa) – CA (SA) OR Registration with a recognised professional body e.g. South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA/ACCA/SAIGA)

Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the appointee will:

• Direct Revenue and Debt Management
• Direct the development and implementation of effective debt collection plans and customer engagement processes to optimise collections.
• Review debtor balances and approve or recommend appropriate provisions for doubtful debts in accordance with policy
• Direct Provision of Salary Administration
• Direct and review payroll processes to ensure valid, accurate, complete and timely payment of employees and third-party creditors
• Ensure effective maintenance and integration of payroll system with the accounting system
• Direct the payment of goods and services
• Direct cash flow management
• Direct and manage reporting of the Entity
• Oversee sundry payments
• Oversee transfer payments
• Coordinate financial accounting and reporting
• Direct preparation of GRAP compliant financial statements.
• Direct audit preparedness and processes.
• Research accounting reporting frameworks
• Research accounting reporting frameworks as well as developments thereto, to ensure the appropriate accounting is undertaken in accordance with standards
• Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the line manager/supervisor within the ambit of the position taking into consideration competencies and operational requirements
