Context of role

Policies and Procedures:

• Approval of changes to policies relating to personnel and non-personnel policies

 Finance (Operating Budgets):

• Review in advance and recommend approval of budgets and forecasts
• Approval of both budgeted operational expenditure and unbudgeted expenditure in a particular month, on a cost centre budget

Finance (Capex Budgets):

• Review in advance and recommend approval of capex budgets

Knowledge of:

• Budget for plant sections
• Cross functional support
• Operational goals achievement
• Performance Management
• Process flow sheet and technologies
• Process succession planning
• Production targets
• Project execution
• Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practice and standards implementation
• Tactical plans for implementation of operations goals and objectives
• Technology transfer facilitation

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Chemical Engineering / Metallurgy

Job-specific experience

• 10 years' experience as an engineer of which at least 5 years managing processing plants. 
• Coaching and mentoring
• Financial aspects such as cost control, budgeting and return on investment
• Project Management
