    Senior Manager, SCM Control Tower, Air & Sea

    Main Purpose of the Role:

    • The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management Control Tower (SCM) holds the responsibility and accountability for the daily operational quality standards delivered by the department teams.
    • The Manager leads the department in all administrative and operational aspects of the daily business.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Supervise staff on daily tasks.
    • Monitor that all work assignments are performed on time.
    • Train staff in accurate handling of defined work instructions.
    • Support the staff in troubleshooting issues.
    • Obtain strong working user experience with all operational tasks in SCM.
    • Ensure timely and accurate billing of internal handling fee’s to DSV account owners and/or customers.
    • Follow DSV ZA & SCM company standards for P&L, revenue and cost administration. 
    • Responsible for keeping him/herself up to date on client and account management communicated information. 
    • Develops relationship with clients and becomes familiar with key contacts, unique requirements and operating processes.
    • Ensure that DSV processes are meeting target services levels.
    • Ensure that the control tower team is meeting DSV and specific client setup KPI targets.
    • Establish a very strong knowledge of DSV’s freight forwarding product offerings and procedures to ensure flawless cooperation between Air & Sea operational departments and SCM control tower.
    • Understand, investigate and solve any complex client requests or complaints, particularly when multiple departments or teams’ involvement is required.
    • Escalate to General Manager proactively on continues disputes, high level decisions and high-profile service issues and potential risk situations.
    • Own SOP governance and compliance
    • Lead strategic process changes
    • Facilitate best practice and format on monthly KPI reviews with Ops and Super Users
    • Interpret commercial documents and drive operational alignment
    • Expert knowledge of freight forwarding and POM

    Qualifications:

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • B. Com Logistics/Supply Chain Management beneficial

    Additional Computer Skills:

    • Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

    Job-Related Requirements:

    • Min. 10 years’ experience in freight forwarding industry

    • Strategic thinking and decision-making
    • High-level analytical and financial acumen Professional Knowledge
    • Strong industry knowledge and Supply Chain understanding
    • Software Skills
    • Good command of Microsoft office programs
    • Language Skills
    • Good command of written and spoken and English
