RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will work on technically complex projects within the mining, heavy industrial and materials-handling sectors, providing engineering expertise across mechanical equipment, plant and infrastructure.
Requirements:
BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Professional registration with ECSA advantageous.
Over 10 years’ consulting engineering experience, ideally within mining and heavy industry.
Strong expertise in mechanical equipment, industrial plant and materials-handling systems, from design and integration through to implementation.
Experience with conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders/unloaders, rail loading systems, piping, tanks, vessels, cranes and lifting equipment.
Exposure to plant upgrades, brownfield projects, asset integrity, reliability and maintenance engineering.
Experience in equipment assessments, failure analysis, life-extension programmes, thermal/fatigue analysis and FEA.
