Senior Mining Engineer at Worley

Main Purpose of Job:

• To perform mining engineering and discipline project design activities relating to concept (OME), pre-feasibility (PCE), bankable feasibility (CBE), EPCM and Turnkey mining projects undertaken by Worley and act as contract manager of all Mining contracts on site.
• To carry out all Engineering Discipline and design work in accordance with agreed codes and practices that meet all requirements of the contract, while ensuring all work is carried out within agreed schedules; budgets and procedures- in a safe manner.
• To conduct engineering and design work in accordance with Worley’ EMS and WPMP, to meet the requirements set out in the RSA Technical Stewardship plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Mining Engineering Design and Drafting works.
• Perform Project Management duties in support of overall mining Project Execution.
• Manage Contractor Work Schedules as part of the Project WBS and work package for mine engineering works.
• Perform Mining Contract Management & support functions.
• Act within the framework of Mining contracts within your area of operating / contractual jurisdiction.
• Manage the Integration of Compliance (SHERQ) HSE; Risk, Quality Management and customer integrity requirements in mining engineering works.
• Manage the departmental injury incident reporting process for Project sites involving WorleyParsons employees.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Education: BSc Eng (Mining), / B Eng (Mining) or BTech (Mining) or NHD (Mining) with Mine Manager’s certificate. Pr. Eng status / Membership of a professional bodies, e.g. SAIMM / ECSA is a requirement.

Experience:

• 10 years of experience in Mining engineering.
• Good understanding of mining methods, geology, survey, ventilation, rock engineering, project management

Special Conditions Attached to The Job:

• Travelling to sites and work / exposure to varied operating conditions necessary.
• May supervise part of a discipline team.
• Provide discipline specific engineering services to WorleyParsons and its clients, including technical support and supervision both within the discipline and to other disciplines
