Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, build, deliver, operate, and maintain network and security solutions to meet internal customer requirements, and lead overall efforts in working with cross-functional teams.
• Implement processes, standards, and governance of network and security environments.
• Procuring network and security equipment and coordinating activities of local resources involved with installations.
• Provides subject matter expertise and leadership of network and security technologies contributing to integrated solution designs, development, and implementation.
• Identify and make appropriate changes to network and security technologies, integrated platforms, and systems to meet internal customer and operational requirements.
• Continuously seek to more efficiently manage and utilize technology, platforms, and systems.
• Highlight design risks, provide alternative options, and recommend quality solutions to specified problems.
• Incorporate security controls and technologies into the overall system implementations.
• Where feasible, enable automation to reduce release cycle time, improve efficiency, and increase overall quality.
• Mentor, guide, and influence others, acting as a technology thought leader.
• Set project implementation approach for team, customer, and external supplier activities and deliverables.
• Strong ability to document, set, and follow standards, processes, and procedures.

• Work occurs in a normal business environment, but the requirements of the job will necessitate being available to support critical systems 24x7x365.

Academic Qualifications, Certifications, and Required Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years’ network engineering experience in a large-scale global enterprise environment.  
• Experience managing global 24x7x365 environments.
• Cisco professional certifications are desired.
• ITSM and ITIL experience.

Required Skills and Experience: Design, implementing, administering, and strong troubleshooting

experience with:

• IOS and IOS-XE based routing platforms (ASRs, ISRs, CSRs) and protocols (eBGP, iBGP, OSPF, etc.).
• IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS based switching platforms, protocols, and methodologies (VLANs, RSTP, MST, Stacking, PoE, 802.1q tagging, trunking, etc.).
• MPLS technologies including L2 VPNs, L3 VPNs, EVPN, Pseudo wires, High Availability, QinQ, etc.
• SD-WAN technologies with Cisco IWAN and SD-WAN, including migration strategies.
• Cisco SD-WAN DCA and Cloud onRamp solutions.
• Cisco AVC and NBAR solutions.
• Quality of Service, Hardware QOS (queuing), WRED, WRR, FIFO, DSCP markings, COS marking, etc.
• Cisco’s FirePOWER Threat Defense (FTD) firewalls and management tools with a strong understanding of Access Policy usage, IPS, NAT, etc.
• Wireless LANs and centralized wireless controller management.
• Management and Monitoring Tools, such as Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, Live Action, and DNA Centre.
• Network Administration products such as Cisco ISE.
• SSL/TLS Inspection systems.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command line.
• Network automation using tools such as Ansible or scripting languages such as Python.
