    Senior Privacy and Technology Counsel

    About the Role

    This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about a cutting-edge, in-demand, high-tech area of international law. In this role, the hope is that you'll become a leader in the organization, and a partner to our clients.

    Primary job responsibilities will include detailed legal analysis of clients’ products and services, data protection assessments and regulatory compliance auditing, and contract review and drafting.

     

    Responsibilities will also include:

    • Assessing client information systems and business processes for compliance with data protection/privacy regulations
    • Mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level associate attorneys
    • Drafting and reviewing data protection agreements, addenda, and amendments
    • Drafting and reviewing data protection impact assessments / privacy impact assessments
    • Redlining business contracts for compliance with privacy standards
    • Negotiating with clients’ vendors to implement privacy-related contractual amendments
    • Advising clients on privacy-related product improvements
    • Researching legal issues and composing internal legal opinions/memoranda
    • Writing privacy law related articles and blog posts
    • Assisting with the development of in-house legal templates
    • Assisting with the development of internal policies and procedures
    • Performing a variety of other legally oriented tasks and duties as assigned

     

    What We Need From You

    Required:

    • Qualified as an attorney in your jurisdiction
    • Team player, interested in contributing to a growing enterprise
    • Willingness to learn new skills and receive direction and feedback from managing attorneys
    • Willingness and desire to manage junior attorneys
    • Ability to work remotely

    Preferred:

    • Previous contract drafting and negotiation experience strongly preferred
    • At least 4 years of work experience as an attorney
    • Strong writing skills and attention to detail
    • Experience/training in privacy law, European and/or international law
    • Willingness to pursue privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM)
    • Experience, training, or certification in one of the following areas: IT security, DevOps, programming, web development, MIS/CIS, or other technology field
    • Experience with the pharmaceutical industry
