Job Description

• Our client, Indigo Fruit Farming, a leading producer of citrus and sub-tropical fruit in South Africa is recruiting for a Senior Production Line Supervisor at Naranja Packers in Burgersfort, Limpopo
• The purpose of the job is for the Production Senior Line Supervisor to monitor and control the operations from packing to palletizing. Oversee and coordinate team optimizing operations in accordance with the packing instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively plan and coordinates shift with Team Leaders, with regards to resources, equipment, and quality to achieve production targets and specified packing instructions.
• Manages operational efficiencies to limit delays and report downtime timeously to /department managers.
• Constantly optimize pack table/drop allocations based on packing instructions to maximize operational efficiencies.
• Ensure orders or requests are packed according to market and client specifications and ensure no overpacking.
• Monitor correct fruit quality, packed product, labelling, fruit weights and palletizing.
• Responsible for maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and hygiene standards throughout responsible area.
• Oversee that team is adhering to policies and procedures and that health and safety rules are followed.
• Ensure good communication on all levels (upward and downwards) to ensure effective and efficient operations.
•  Oversee and validate records for cleaning, sizing, carton weights and scale calibrations.
• Manage staff within department that includes maintaining discipline, resource efficient utilization, employment of staff, motivation, and reward.
• Provide training on production good practices, health and safety, policies, and procedures.
• Take on additional responsibilities when operating on double shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Grade 12
• Diploma/ Degree in any Agricultural field of study would be advantageous
• Minimum 3 years working experience as a Production Supervisor managing large teams essential
• Previous relevant experience in the Citrus/Agriculture sector essential
• Previous relevant experience in Food Safety/Agriculture sectors essential
• Able to work shifts  

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
• Strong administrative capabilities
