Senior QA/QC Coating Inspector – NACE / AMPP / ICorr Level 2 at Fempower Recruitment Excellence

Job Overview

• Fempower Personnel is recruiting an experienced Senior QA/QC Coating Inspector (NACE / AMPP / ICorr Level 2) for a specialised industrial project based in Secunda.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quality inspections and ensuring compliance across surface preparation, corrosion protection, industrial coatings, FoamGlas insulation, vapour barrier installation and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) applications.
• This opportunity requires a technically competent coating inspection professional with extensive practical experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed QA/QC inspections throughout surface preparation, blasting and protective coating application processes.
• Verify coating quality, environmental conditions, surface profiles and film thickness measurements.
• Inspect FoamGlas insulation installation, PittWrap vapour barrier applications and PFP systems.
• Monitor environmental conditions within controlled and dehumidified work areas.
• Identify non-conformances, document defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Review quality control records, contractor data packs, inspection reports and handover documentation.
• Coordinate inspection hold-points with contractors, client representatives and third-party inspectors.
• Ensure all activities comply with approved project specifications, QCPs, ITPs and applicable international standards.
• Support risk identification, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with all site health, safety and environmental requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid NACE / AMPP / ICorr Level 2 Coating Inspector certification – essential.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant coating inspection or QA/QC experience within petrochemical, oil and gas or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial protective coatings, surface preparation, abrasive blasting and corrosion protection systems.
• Experience or practical knowledge of FoamGlas insulation, PittWrap vapour barriers, CUI protection and Passive Fire Protection systems.
• Sound understanding of international coating inspection standards, including ISO, SSPC and NACE.
• Proven ability to interpret technical specifications, isometric/structural drawings, quality control plans and inspection and test plans.
• Proficiency in coating inspection equipment, including DFT/WFT gauges, surface profile gauges, dew point meters and holiday detectors.
• Strong technical reporting, problem-solving and stakeholder coordination skills.
