RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established contractor specialising in commercial interiors, fit-outs and turnkey construction is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Cape Town team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full quantity surveying function from tender stage through to project completion and final account.
Prepare and review BOQs, estimates, cost plans and tender documentation.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost reporting.
Conduct measurement and valuations of work completed.
Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, claims and contractual changes.
Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and identify potential commercial risks and opportunities.
Prepare monthly commercial reports and provide accurate project cost information to management.
Assist with contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Attend site meetings, client meetings and commercial negotiations.
Liaise closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Manage project close-out, including final accounts and commercial reconciliation.
Requirements:
BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying or Diploma in Building
10+ years' quantity surveying experience within the construction industry.
Strong experience in commercial interiors, fit-outs, office renovations, retail, tenant installations or refurbishment projects.
Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts, variations, claims and final accounts.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.
Excellent Excel and cost-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
Experience working on high-end corporate, retail, hospitality or commercial fit-out projects.
Experience within a turnkey construction environment.
SACQSP registration or eligibility for professional registration advantageous.
Experience with relevant estimating, QS or construction management software.
