    Senior Rewards Specialist

    AfroCentric Group is looking for a Senior Rewards Specialist to manage all aspects of the compensation and employee benefits program. This includes evaluating and making recommendations on compensation strategies to attract and retain talent, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, life insurance, time off, wellness programs and any other employee benefit plans offered.

    • Assist with the design, development, communication, implementation and administration of entity specific reward offering.
    • Provide specialist advice on elements of pay and benefits and advanced level financial modelling and Tax support within a Total Rewards context.
    • Responsible for subsidiary specific engagements to educate the various stakeholders on matters of with regards to STIs, LTIs, ESOP schemes and all policies.
    • Experience 5 8 years’ experience in the Reward field. Additional experience within the Human Resources profession is highly desired
    • Qualifications Bachelor degree with concentration in Business or Finance. Certified Reward and/or Benefits Professional
    • Grade B3M1

    Accountabilities

    Continuous improvement:

    • Implement practical solutions that use the specialist and departmental systems and processes
    • Provide specialist input and recommendations to improve the efficiency, compliance and quality objectives related to the area of specialisation
    • Identify problems and develop and propose solutions to present to appropriate leader or stakeholders
    • Ensure day to day operational support required from area of specialisation is provided to enhance performance

    Cost containment:

    • Support the identification, development and implementation of cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers related to area of specialisation
    • Continuously review cost / benefit and Return on Investment within area of specialisation

    Drive customer-centricity:

    • Consult with and influence line managers regarding all Human Resources Remuneration and Benefit Practices to ensure strategic business objectives are achieved
    • Maintain a high level of impact on other departments to support improved delivery
    • Continually increase understanding of client and stakeholder needs, satisfaction and service delivery

    Knowledge management:

    • Conduct research and gain an understanding of internal and external market trends and perform data analysis as required. Apply findings to the Group policies and philosophy
    • Conduct remuneration benchmarking, analyse and submit recommendations relating to the impact on the company's policy and philosophy
    • Conduct audits and analyse compliance in terms of remuneration governance and company policies and submit recommendations for approval
    • Keep abreast of Human Resources developments in marketplace and changes to legislation related to practice
    • Ensure that adequate knowledge regarding specialisation is shared as required and maintained within the research library
    • Provide advice and / or training as required
    • Maintain, develop and implement specialist knowledge within the day to day operations of the organisation

    Maintain expertise level:

    • Be a member of related professional bodies
    • Ensure CPD (continual professional development) or similar accreditation requirements are met annually to ensure maintained specialist accreditation

    Network key relationships:

    • Engage with and provide support to the established network of internal and external expert resources and partners

    Specialist support to projects:

    • Provide Specialist expertise and ensure best practice related to specialisation is implemented in projects, when required
    • Conform to project management disciplines when participating in projects
    • Represent department or project on appropriate committees related to area of specialization

    Position Specific Outputs

    • Assist the Senior Manager with implementation of the Group Reward strategy and communicating remuneration & retention strategies and policies.
    • Assess the effectiveness of current programs in achieving organizational objectives, identifies best practices and benchmarks and develop
    • recommendations for modifications to align to HR strategy and business goals.
    • Ensure the policy is aligned with business initiatives
    • Rem Partnering with subsidiaries and in the balance of Group Strategy
    • Advise HR Business Partner and business leadership on appropriate total reward packages to recruit and retain talent
    • Oversee LTI and STI policy execution
    • Recommend updates to relevant Reward Policies
    • Assist with input for accurate and timeous Remco pack
    • Develop all Reward process guidelines, facilitate communication and distribution thereof
    • Research and recommend market competitive change to policy
    • Manage all annual Review cycle components within policy, timelines and process
    • Coordinate Executive remuneration benchmarking process
    • Assist with preparation of Remco Proposal submissions
    • Ensure all actions outside governance are highlighted and impact communicated to Senior Manager Remuneration / Reward
    • Plan, design, implement and administer a comprehensive rewards strategy, and programs including work/life balance programs
    • Effectively manage and collaborate with vendors and external partners
    • Prepare annual budget for total rewards and manage expenditures related to benefit programs
    • Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing Total Rewards programs and new initiatives
    • Partners with the HRIS team to ensure that appropriate measurements are identified and data gathered for use by the reward department
