Senior SAP SD Consultant at Salt South Africa

Role Summary

• We are seeking a Senior SAP SD Consultant to support the implementation and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution processes within a large-scale transformation programme.
• This role involves translating business requirements into functional solutions, configuring SD modules, managing integrations, and supporting full lifecycle delivery from design through to testing and post-go-live support.
• The focus will be on outbound logistics, pricing, inventory processes, and complex distribution scenarios, including compliance-related requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Configuration

• Translate business requirements into detailed Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
• Configure SAP SD modules, including:
• Enterprise structure and organisational assignments
• Sales documents, item categories, and copy control
• Pricing procedures, condition techniques, and discount structures
• Billing, invoicing, and output management

Sales & Distribution Processes
Configure and optimise:

• Sales orders, returns, debit/credit memos
• Outbound processes (deliveries, shipments, billing)
• Consignment, cross-docking, and flow-through processes
• Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) and fast order entry

Settlement & Pricing
Design and implement:

• Settlement management and claims processes
• Condition contracts for pricing, rebates, promotions, and distribution fees

Integration & Interfaces
Support integration with:

• External warehouse management systems
• Third-party logistics and shipping providers

Work with:

• IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, and EDI messaging
• Interface monitoring and issue resolution

Data & Technical Collaboration

• Support Business Partner and master data migration
• Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP/Fiori) on developments
• Provide functional input into custom solutions and enhancements

Testing & Delivery
Execute and support:

• Unit Testing
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• End-to-end testing across Order-to-Cash processes
• Manage defect resolution and provide post-go-live support

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions
• Conduct walkthroughs and obtain business sign-off
• Deliver user training and documentation

Project Involvement
Support key processes including:

• Order-to-Cash (OTC)
• Lead-to-Cash (L2C)
• Integration with third-party logistics providers

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a SAP SD Consultant within S/4HANA environments
• Strong hands-on configuration experience across core SD modules

Deep understanding of:

• Pricing, billing, and outbound logistics
• Returns, backorders, and inventory processes
• Condition contracts and settlement management
• Experience with integrations:
• EDI, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs
• External warehouse and logistics systems

Ability to:

• Write and review Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
• Work closely with technical teams on developments
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues

Experience with:

• Full lifecycle SAP implementations or rollouts
• Testing cycles and post-go-live support
• Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation

Nice to Have

• Experience in high-volume distribution environments

Exposure to:

• Consignment and cross-docking processes
• Export processes and compliance requirements
• Experience with SAP Fiori application
