Job Description

• We are seeking a Senior Software Developer specializing in Reliability to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly reliable and scalable software systems that meet our organization's performance and availability standards.
• Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
• Implement and optimize reliability features in existing systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve potential reliability issues
• Conduct performance analysis and implement improvements to enhance system reliability
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Develop and maintain documentation for reliability processes and best practices
• Mentor junior developers in reliability engineering principles and practices
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development and deployment processes
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in reliability engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on reliability engineering
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in performance monitoring and optimization tools
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
• Proven track record in building and maintaining reliable, scalable systems
• Experience in incident management and root cause analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer) are a plus
