Senior Software Engineer at Hatch

Requirements & Experience
Only applicants with:

• A relevant four year or three year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Electronic/Software Engineering, or Computer Science will be considered 
• 5 – 12 years of working experience as a software engineer will be considered

Development skills can include a combination of:

In depth knowledge of 

• JavaScript Frameworks Libraries (ReactJS, Flutter, Angular, Knockout, Vue, etc.)
• Working with JSON and XML
• Working with databases - SQL(MySQL, PostgreSQL), Time-series DBs (InfluxDB) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
• HTML/ CSS/ SCSS/ JavaScript
• Source control
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

Working knowledge of

• C#/.NET /ASP.NET
• Setting up Cloud Services Storage Accounts, API apps, WEB apps, API management services, cloud functions, Logic Apps
• Building RESTful APIs 
• Setting up and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
• Application security (SSL/TLS, key vault)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of applications for Hatch’s clients in heavy industry.
• Lead design and architecture investigations
• Manage delivery of Hatch software and applications being accountable for the full software development lifecycle and carrying accountability for the full scope, time, cost, and quality
• Update, maintain and improve the software delivery process 
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to development team members 
• Review and prepare relevant user and technical documentation
• Mentor and coach junior software engineers and developers
• Facilitate collaboration and communication within and outside of your team to continually improve the process of software delivery
• Remain abreast of technology developments within fields relevant to current and future initiatives and development work
• Be a team player who works well in a team environment with shared code, disciplined use of source control and process documentation and who is confident escalating issues and blockers when necessary
