Education & Qualifications

• A degree qualification in a relevant mining, engineering or financial related discipline.
• Post graduate degree or qualification in Project Management, Financial Management or a mining discipline would be advantageous.

General knowledge / Experience

• Minimum fifteen years experience in the process and extractive industries.
• Minimum ten years’ experience in a senior position working in capital management and reporting within the mining industry.
• Working with SAP and understanding the PS Module to the extent that system design and governance advice can be provided.
• Working with IBM's Planning Analytics software suite and understanding the TM1 Capital Module to the extent that system design and governance advice can be provided. 
• Working and creating project dashboards for reporting with PowerBi or similar.

Technical knowledge & skills

• Can review the overall financial planning of a project in conjunction with other developments on a mine site and can transfer this view to other project managers to drive accuracy and thinking around developing the financial models for projects.
• Can develop scenarios at mine level of adding or removing projects in order to optimise the project pipeline in a way that adds maximum value to the overall business plan for the mine.
• Influence the key stakeholder at the Business Units and mine sites to source information on time for reporting.
• Can utilise the RACI and communications plan to drive project communication and gain value from effective use of these plans.
• Can identify, recognise and acknowledge stakeholders to determining their influence and interests.
• Can establish a communication management plan across a portfolio of projects.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking.
• Demonstrated capability in organising work, setting priorities and exercising sound independent judgement.
• Sound understanding of components and key drivers of the mining value chain.
• Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with internationally accepted best practice project management techniques and principles.

Role accountabilities

• Consolidate companywide project portfolio information to enable central reporting to management.
• Create dashboards for project reporting.
• Provide expert advice on the SAP PS Module, IBM Planning Analytics TM1 Capital Module and integration with HFM.
• Govern the use of SAP PS for transactional reporting.
• Govern the use of the TM1 Capital modules for capital planning and forecasting.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to SAP PS and TM1 Capital modules.
• Alanysis and review project-related records, including authorisations, change orders, actuals, commitments and forecasts.
• Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management.
• Review capex budgets and make recommendations regarding project categories and spend profiles per mine site.
• Investigate project management software for use by project teams.
• Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
