Senior Specialist IP Network Assurance at Vodafone Global Enterprise

Role Purpose/Business Unit:

• Provide level 2 technical support on multiple network elements within the IP Core network domain. Drive FM visibility on all network elements and continuously evaluate incident handling process for improvement and optimisation. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical, training and monitoring support to L1 team.
• Continuous improvement of automation, correlation and zero touch operations within the FM CDN environment.
• Analyze events using diversified tools to ensure proper process flow into fault management platform.
• Analyse historical data to prevent and predict future failures. 
• Engage with various support teams and stakeholders to drive fault resolution – technical expertise during WAR room and technical breakout sessions.
• Driving the resolution of all problems affecting the CDN network by following standard procedures to troubleshoot faults.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

• Matric essential
• Degree /3 Year National Diploma in Electrical Engineering /Information Technology /Computer Science/ Software Engineering is essential.
• Networking Certifications e.g. JNCIP, CCNP ,ITIL advantageous.
• At least 5 years work experience within Telecommunications or IT – Essential.
• A minimum 2 years’ experience in Core Networks Elements – Essential
• At least 3 years proven working experience of Internet Protocol (IP) - Essential
• At least 2 years working experience within a NOC environment -Advantageous
• 3 Years’ Experience on GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G knowledge (advantageous).

• Excellent understanding of networking technologies, routers and switches as well as firewalls
• Knowledge regarding the following vendor products: Cisco, Nokia, Nexus and Juniper
• Understanding of NOC platforms and processes  
• Working knowledge of IP/MPLS technology
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, Kafka, Syslog, etc).
• Working knowledge of SGSN, GGSN, EPC (MME, SGW and PGW), eDirectory, BIND/DNS, RADIUS, PCRF, EPC, and various protocols (TCP, UDP, RADIUS, LDAP, DIAMETER, DNS, HTTP, CUPS, VoLTE, NFV etc.) advantageous
