Senior Specialist, Performance Reporting at AngloGold Ashanti

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

• Supports a corporate cost-leadership culture by maintaining, executing, and enhancing standardized performance management reporting across the organization.
• Within the Group Management Accounting department, this role unifies complex financial and operational data from multiple ERP systems into actionable insights for executive leadership.
• Working within established frameworks, the role translates operational data into meaningful performance insights, maintains cost-flex models, and supports regional and corporate finance teams with clear, structured reporting outputs.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performance Reporting: Collate, reconcile, and format financial and operational data into standardized monthly and quarterly management reports for Exco and Board packs.
• Technology & Data Analytics: Leverage advanced systems (SAP, TM1, HFM, WData, Power BI) to automate repetitive data tasks, manage ETL routines, and maintain interface mapping tables.
• Cost Flex Modelling: Maintain and update the group’s inflation-linked flex models and cost-driver tracking schedules while running underlying cash cost variance analyses.
• Process Automation & Optimization: Identify data bottlenecks, eliminate manual reporting workarounds, and apply workflow tools to schedule automated report distributions and data validation alerts.
• Data Governance: Conduct rigorous data validation and structural quality checks to ensure strict numerical reconciliation and zero-defect financial reporting.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Data Analytics (BCom / BSc).
• Progress toward a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA(SA), or CPA) is highly preferred.
• PGDip Management - preferred

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, including senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Finance Business Partnering (FBP) exposure within a mining environment.
• Mastery of complex datasets, financial acumen to link operational KPIs to cash cost drivers, deep database/ERP integration proficiency, and the ability to execute strict workflows under tight monthly closing deadlines.
