    • Our Corporate Technical team is currently seeking a Principal, Mining Underground to join the Perth, Denver or Johannesburg Corporate office to support this mining function.
    • Reporting to the Director - Mining Underground, the role purpose is to provide underground Mine Planning and Operations support for selected assets within the Anglo Gold Ashanti portfolio.
    • This role is a 5:2 roster based at the Perth, Denver or Johannesburg Corporate Office, but will require travel to sites both domestically and internationally within the group portfolio when required. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to be based in Perth, Denver or Johannesburg and have the ability to travel and work in Ghana, Guinea, Tanzania, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, DRC, Egypt and the US in diverse and challenging operations.
    • This position will include hands-on Mine Planning and Scheduling related support and technical expertise across our global entities within AGA.

    Accountabilities:

    • Provide expert Mining and Mine Planning support, input and technical advice to all assigned Operations. This includes improving planning and mining practices at the sites as part of Operational Excellence.
    • Deliver technical input and support for the mining components of studies and project stage gate reviews as assigned.
    • Collaborating closely with the business units, in the development of Integrated plans identifying opportunities, and provide coaching to engineers
    • Assist operations globally in Full Asset Potential processes to deliver improvements in cost and operational performance.
    • Develop and enhance mining planning systems to deliver best practice in mine planning. Subsequently ensuring the systems are in place and operating effectively with results analysed and reported appropriately.
    • Provide support and review to AGA’s Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves processes.
    • Investigating business and operational opportunities through mining related technologies and overseeing testing trials as required and provide support for mining software integration.
    • Maintaining and supporting appropriate Policy, Guidelines and Standards, and subsequent monitoring and reporting of compliance to those standards

    • Underground mining Operational and technical leadership experience and leading multi-faceted teams.
    • A degree qualification in a relevant mining-related discipline

    Director, Geotechnical Open Pit

    The Opportunity  

    • Reporting to the VP: Geotechnical Engineering, the Director Geotechnical Engineering – Open Pit key responsibilities include providing strategic and technical leadership across AGA’s global open pit mining assets, developing geotechnical engineering options and risk management solutions, leading specialist technical teams, providing expert mentorship across international business units, managing complex and competing project workstreams, and aligning engineering standards and strategies with broader corporate objectives. 
    • This position requires on-site presence with travel to the operations. Applicants should be prepared for international travel and working in Ghana, Guinea, Tanzania, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, DRC, Egypt and the US in diverse and challenging operations. 

    Accountabilities: 

    • Provide expert Open Pit Geotechnical leadership across AGA’s global assets, projects and strategic initiatives. 
    • Lead the development and implementation of geotechnical standards, systems and processes to effectively manage critical geotechnical risks. 
    • Provide specialist technical input into business plans, strategic plans, Full Asset Potential analysis and integrated planning, identifying opportunities and value-adding options.

    Principal, Mine Planning - GSP (Group Strategic Planning)

    • To achieve our objectives, GSP requires experienced and innovative mine planners to support mine planning, scheduling, options evaluation, and scenario development. These activities support Strategic Asset Reviews (SAR), technical Due Diligence (DD) exercises, and our annual Strategic Options Workshop (SOW) process.
    • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Principal GSP Mine Planning will apply operational experience, strong mine planning and scheduling skills, and a sound understanding of mining economic evaluation and optimization techniques to each engagement. For this role, you must demonstrate broad experience in underground mine design, process modeling, and schedule optimization via the application of advanced mining tools.
    • You will work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with other SMEs to deliver the scope and schedule for each GSP engagement or program of work. Teams adapt based on project scope and frequently include experts from outside the core GSP department.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and delivery of mine planning and scheduling for strategic engagements, ensuring robust scenario modeling and options evaluation to optimize asset value.

    • Previous involvement in major studies would be advantageous.
    • Advanced knowledge of mine planning processes and systems, particularly in strategic planning.
    • Familiar with the development, validation & analysis of production and/or business analysis models for mine operations/projects.

    Senior Specialist, GeoMetallurgy

    OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

    • Acts as the metallurgical and process engineering discipline authority within the Global Projects function, reporting directly to the Engineering Director. The role drives technical assurance, ore characterisation, and lean engineering practices across major Organic Growth projects from Concept through to Execution.
