    Senior Specialist: Solution Architect

    Role Purpose

    • The Senior Specialist Solution Architecture based within Technology. This role will be responsible for designing and leading the implementation of products and services within the CVM Domain according to the overall digital vision and target architecture. This role is responsible for the technical analysis and holistic solution design of future capabilities and features, including external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, and technical enablers/stories.

    Solution Architecture
    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Compile Solution Design documents (SDD)
    • Compile Low-Level Design documents (LLD)
    • Work collaboratively with technology partners, cross-functional IT teams, and the Business to ensure high quality of solution delivery.

    Technical Evaluation & Review

    • Review vendor design, technology choices, effort estimates and adherence to business needs
    • Assess if development is carried out in accordance with the coding standards, design and architect guide
    • Conduct periodic reviews with partners on SLA's, performance metrics and issues, escalations, change requests and improvement plans.

    Squad Guidance & support

    • Provide agile squads with impact assessments and solution guidance
    • Provide technical guidance during Agile ceremonies
    • Conduct sessions with developers for presenting proposed solutions and provide guidance during implementation

    Organisational Alignment

    • Engage with team members in Design Authority / Enterprise architecture regarding new technologies and industry trends, offering recommendations for their adoption based on business goals, investments, benefits, and risks
    • Work closely with the Business and IT teams to understand business strategy and contribute to the achievement of business goals

    Operational Support

    • Participate in high-level technical solution definition and design during the implementation phase with the goal of providing reliable, stable and operationally sound applications that meet the Business requirements
    • Collaborate with partners to overcome issues impacting service delivery and execute operational improvement initiatives.

    Documentation and oversight

    • Encourage best practice and knowledge sharing with partners and cross-functional groups
    • Provide oversight to the investigation, analysis, and management of technology risks, issues, and dependencies in all programs/projects
    • Provide oversight and standards for technical documentation of applications.

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric is essential
    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related technical field is essential
    • 5-8 years of experience at least 4 of the disciplines below:
    • Business, information, solution or technical architecture,
    • Application development
    • Middleware
    • Information analysis
    • Database management
    • Operations in a multitier environment essential
    • Knowledge of emerging technologies/industry trends along with the ability to leverage them in application development and support initiatives
    • Capable of articulating the business value of IT investments/projects and collaborating with partners and cross-functional groups during implementation
    • Adeptness to engage as a consultative face of IT to the Business and enable technology to address business challenges and improve operational efficiency
    • Skill to integrate new technologies with existing business initiatives and understanding the business processes and customer needs
    • Good understanding of governance framework (roles and responsibilities, escalation and communication process, handoffs and control points)
    • Ability to make recommendations as they pertain to improvements in support/development initiatives and facilitate implementation with partners, IT and cross-functional groups within the Business
    • Capacity to manage conflict with partners and cross-functional groups within the Business and IT
    • Ability to work with multi-national teams, understand and respect cultural diversity and develop messages that help achieve objectives with diverse audiences
