    Senior Specialist : Technology Resilience

    Role Pupose

    To ensure that all the Technology Resilience Policy controls are maintained in accordance with the Vodafone Technology Resilience Guidelines and related Annexures.To fulfil the role of Technology Resilience Policy Champion for Vodacom SA.To undertake Business Resilience Tasks as required under the control of the Executive Business Resilience.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To ensure compliance against the Technology Resilience Policy controls.
    • To facilitate the end-to-end testing strategies across all technology domains in accordance with Work Breakdown Structures.
    • To ensure that Assurance and Audit findings and remedial actions are managed and monitored.
    • To maintain a Single Point of Contact structure across all technology domains and ensure that they are trained and can implement controls as part of day-to-day business processes.
    • To report progress to the local Technology Director and local Governance bodies.
    • To ensure that the Business Resilience Programme aligns with the Technology Resilience Policy control requirements.
    • To ensure that Single Point of Contacts are formally appointed within the technology domains to oversee the implementation and maintenance of Technology  Resilience controls.
    • To provide ongoing training to the Single Point of Contacts to ensure an acceptable level of understanding of the Technology Resilience Policy control requirements.
    • To communicate policy requirements and scope changes to technology domain owners and their Single Point of Contacts.
    • To ensure that a record and evidence of all the controls across all domains are maintained on SharePoint as evidence for Compliance and Assurance audits.
    • To facilitate and ensure that annual Policy Assurance self-assessment evidence is uploaded to the Vodafone Risk Connect system. 
    • To coordinate and facilitate annual Policy deep dive Assurance assessments performed by the Vodafone Assurance level 2 teams.
    • To report to the Technology Director on a quarterly basis the progress, issues and risks related to the Technology Resilience Policy control maintenance programme.
    • To develop and maintain local policies, procedures and methodologies to ensure the effective implementation, maintenance and execution of policy control requirements.
    • To develop and facilitate end-to-end testing strategies and methodologies across all technology domains to meet the Technology Resilience Policy requirements with the required auditable evidence.
    • To coordinate and facilitate the annual Mobile Radio Access Network Recovery on-site solution test as part of the end-to-end testing requirements.
    • To ensure the ongoing updates of market specific critical services across all technology domains.
    • To ensure the implementation of actions plans arising from risk assessments.
    • To ensure that findings and remedial actions from audits and assurance programs are carried out and reported on timeously.
    • To document the post assessment results after end-to-end testing and obtain approval from management.
    • To ensure that third party supplier contracts are identified and that requirements are included by the technology owners to meet policy control requirements.
    • Reporting of all incidents to Vodafone impacting on the services level targets in accordance with the policy control requirements.
    • To develop project schedules and manage projects across groups.
    • To lead project teams as part of projects to ensure deliverables according to scope, timelines and budget.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • A degree or equivalent qualification in Eng/IT/IS and or MBA is essential.
    • Additional professional relevant certification will be an advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of which 3 years needs to be within the telecommunication’s technical core engineering or billing & IT environments (essential). 
    • 3 Years’ experience as project manager or project leader (essential).

    Experience in telecommunication networks and resilience architectures will be an advantage. 
    Have in-depth knowledge of Vodacom’s technology processes and functions will be an advantage.
