Senior SQL Database Administrator at Paracon

Our client has a wonderful opportunity available for a passionate SQL Database Administrator to join their team in Cape Town on a contract basis.

• You need to have a Microsoft Certification (preferred) coupled with 5+ years’ experience in a DBA or similar role with solid experience in SQL (2012/2016/2019) development and administration and an in-depth understanding of SQL architecture, SQL cluster, data warehousing and cloud data migration management.

Adding to the above, you must have the following:

• Working experience with Oracle development and administration;
• Experience with Azure DB technologies (Cosmos, Table Storage, Blob Storage);
• Strong experience with Azure Portal;
• Good knowledge in SSIS and SSRS;
• Good experience implementing operational automation through SQL tools and PowerShell;
• Ability to do database diagrams for relationships, systems, architecture, replication, etc.;
• Understand storage designs for Hot and Cold Storage;
• Knowledge of spatial query and GIS DB functionality; and,
• Experience with replication topologies and components.
