3 to 5 years of practical work experience in stage technical work.
Technical skills such as proficiency in lighting and sound systems, stage rigging and equipment operation.
Knowledge of stage rigging techniques and safety protocols.
Knowledge of set building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee Stage setup and teardown of stage equipment and scenery.
Enforce health and safety regulation.
Inspect hanging gear and make sure that it is safe to use and in good repair.
Maintain and repair stage equipment
Ensure safety cables are attached to all hanging gear.
Replace faulty equipment and recommend to the senior management to upgrade to newer and safer technology when necessary.
Collaborate with production team, including directors, producers. And other technicians.
Use computers and computer systems (including software and hardware) to program, write software, setup functions, enter data, or process information.
Operate computerized stage machinery.
Determine formats and approaches, content, levels and mediums to effectively meet objectives within budgetary constraints, using research, knowledge and training.
Determine technical requirements of productions or projects.
Schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of subordinates.
Draw Stage Crew time sheets on behalf of the Technical Manager.
Take annual stock of Stage scenery, furnisher and props stock and monthly stock take of consumables.
Guide and assist visiting technical staff and clients wherever necessary.
Maintain inventories of set, props and machinery.
Maintain logs of production activities.
Operate any stage equipment within theatre when needed.
Train and manage the performance of subordinates
Study the script and consult with the director to assess what is required.
