    Hospitality Manager

    Minimum requirements

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in hospitality management or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality management.
    • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Supervise and manage administration staff on all client visits and enquires, ensuring that all client files are up to date
    • Communicate on a regular basis with all new clients after the contracts have been opened to ensure client satisfaction is maintained from start to end
    • Lead and manage all client site visits, and empower new clients to book functions and rooms in Joburg City theatres
    • Manage the sales targets daily and report on sales targets achieved weekly
    • Plan and co-ordinate all events and functions with front of house staff
    • Supervise the service standards from start to end of event or function
    • Manage and co-ordinate all line staff during events
    • Conduct site inspections with the client on the various facilities available, advising and discussing the merits of the various options
    • Manage the companies function planner schedule ensuring that there are no double bookings and to communicate this regularly with all management
    • Supervise and assist at any special functions, should the function warrant this, which may also sometimes be out of normal working hours
    • Ensure that all events within Joburg Theatre complex & outdoor events run smoothly & are of high standard
    • Manage all revenue received, ensuring that all daily revenue is wrung up on the companies Point of sale system
    • Provide weekly client visit reports to senior management
    • Supervise the weekly forecasts of all venue and rooms availability
    • Manage all outstanding monies owed through events and functions
    • Manage an updated client database and constantly update whenever any new client visits
    • Maintaining good guest, PCO’s and client relations
    • Attending meetings with all subordinates, ensuring a good flow of communication and feedback.

    Sound Technician - Soweto Theatre

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • National Diploma in Sound Technology or equivalent.
    • 3+ years of experience in sound technology
    • Computer literacy
    • Knowledge of LogicPro, Cubase, Studio One and Q-lab programs
    • Proven knowledge of sound design.
    • Interpret sound designs.
    • Proficient in digital audio consoles (e.g., Midas, Digico, Yamaha and Soundcraft)
    • Knowledge of sound reinforcement principles
    • Physical ability to lift and move equipment.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Set up and operate sound equipment for performances, including consoles, speakers, microphones, and any additional audio devices.
    • Conduct sound checks to ensure optimal audio quality, and making real-time adjustments as needed.
    • Mix and regulate sound inputs and feeds to ensure a balanced audio experience for live audiences.
    • Implement sound designs as directed and interpret design elements to achieve the desired audio effect.
    • Inspect sound equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working order and compliant with safety standards.
    • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on audio equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
    • Inspect hanging gear periodically, attach safety cables and verify that all equipment is secure and in safe working condition.
    • Diagnose and resolve media system problems, including any sound, lighting, or video issues that may affect production quality.
    • Operate and troubleshoot control consoles for sound, lighting, and video as needed.
    • Provide technical support during performances to address audio issues quickly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with production teams to achieve desired audio outcomes, ensuring alignment with overall production goals.

    Stages Supervisor

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12/Matric plus relevant Certificate in Hospitality Management
    • 1 year experience within the hospitality environment
    • A minimum of 6 months’ restaurant supervision or related field.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Compile daily rosters for all front of house staff
    • Hold regular staff briefing sessions
    • Ensure that all staffs are always correctly and smartly dressed, that they offer professional and courteous service to their customers.
    • Conduct a regular check on the POS operating system on menu prices,
    • Ensure that all price increase are conducted timeously against any price increase incurred.
    • Ensure that profit margins are maintained, agreed costs not exceeded through effective control systems, including issuing against dockets, sales analysis, menu costing and cash checks.
    • Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all food & beverages to the required standards set
    • Ensure that all food & beverage orders are placed on time with the central warehouse
    • Ensure maximum security in all areas under your control especially during all cash ups.
    • Ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all areas.
    • Attend timeously to customer complaints.
    • Identify areas for development and training needs, and ensure that this training is Effective.
    • Ensure that daily, mid-month & month end stock takes are conducted.
    • Ensure that regular tests are conducted on all front & back of house staffs.
    • Attend meetings as required.

    Senior Stage Technician

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma (NQF 6)
    • 3 to 5 years of practical work experience in stage technical work.
    • Technical skills such as proficiency in lighting and sound systems, stage rigging and equipment operation.
    • Knowledge of stage rigging techniques and safety protocols.
    • Knowledge of set building.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee Stage setup and teardown of stage equipment and scenery.
    • Enforce health and safety regulation.
    • Inspect hanging gear and make sure that it is safe to use and in good repair.
    • Maintain and repair stage equipment
    • Ensure safety cables are attached to all hanging gear.
    • Replace faulty equipment and recommend to the senior management to upgrade to newer and safer technology when necessary.
    • Collaborate with production team, including directors, producers. And other technicians.
    • Use computers and computer systems (including software and hardware) to program, write software, setup functions, enter data, or process information.
    • Operate computerized stage machinery.
    • Determine formats and approaches, content, levels and mediums to effectively meet objectives within budgetary constraints, using research, knowledge and training.
    • Determine technical requirements of productions or projects.
    • Schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of subordinates.
    • Draw Stage Crew time sheets on behalf of the Technical Manager.
    • Take annual stock of Stage scenery, furnisher and props stock and monthly stock take of consumables.
    • Guide and assist visiting technical staff and clients wherever necessary.
    • Maintain inventories of set, props and machinery.
    • Maintain logs of production activities.
    • Operate any stage equipment within theatre when needed.
    • Train and manage the performance of subordinates 
    • Study the script and consult with the director to assess what is required.

    Assistant Stage Technicians

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • 1+ year of experience in stage technical operations.
    • Basic knowledge of lighting, sound, and rigging systems and equipment operation.
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
    • Knowledge of stage management software
    • Ability to lift and move equipment.
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist in setting up and striking stage equipment (lighting, sound, rigging).
    • Operate stage equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
    • Maintain and perform basic repairs on stage equipment.
    • Collaborate with production teams to achieve desired technical outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
    • Assist with event setup and teardown.
    • Operate any stage, lighting and sound equipment within theatre when needed.
    • Serve on all in-house productions and co-productions, responsible to the Senior Stage Technician
    • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
    • Responsible for all Stage related operations/initiatives including those that will require travelling.
    • Inspect hanging gear and make sure that it is safe to use and in good repair.
    • Ensure safety cables are attached to all hanging gear.
    • Ensure that scenery bars are in good working order and meets the required safety standards before use.
    • Use computers and computer systems to write software, setup functions, enter data, and/or process information.
