    Senior Strategy & Planning Lead

    What You’ll Do

    • Strategy work with teams to define strategies via working sessions and analytical support
    • Plan and lead all 2020 planning activities at a sub-regional level
    • Given our relative geographical placement and importance in proving our business model, we need a proactive approach to defining the SSA narrative in EMEA and globally. This involves some evangelization but also opportunism and alignment across channels making sure we’re broadcasting a simple coherent message in regards SSA’s story
    • Competitor tracking to understand impact on strategic planning
    • Project management on new business line management, across multiple stakeholders
    • Analytical while remaining pragmatic. Deciphering huge data sets and cutting through irrelevant distractions to the heart of core data questions, yet always stay pragmatic by keeping in mind the local context and on-the-ground realities
    • Ownership of new business lines and the incubation of these opportunities to ensure business differentiation and sustainability
    • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of programs and work with management to execute those strategies
    • Identify future growth opportunities and improvement areas is fundamental
    • Interface with other functional areas within Uber (Business Development, People Operations, Product, Legal, Finance etc.) to ensure efficient and productive working relationships.

    What You’ll Need

    • Minimum of 8 years work experience in operations, strategy, analytics or similar (e.g. consulting, entrepreneurship, banking)
    • Minimum of 3 years managing a team
    • Ability to identify a business, operational or organizational challenge, frame the problem, and decide on an appropriate course of action.
    • Strong in SQL and exceptional Excel / data management skills. Expert at pulling data and communicating it in clear, well built models
    • Strong communication ability with an eye towards takeaways and next steps, whether in writing, decks or live meetings
    • Project management
    • Speed and balancing priorities. Many tasks, from tiny to huge, come to this role, and you must be able to execute quickly and while frequently re-prioritizing
