Requirement Overview
The Audit Research and Development Unit provides the Auditor General and auditors with an audit methodology, technical guidance and support to enable them to perform public sector audits.
The Senior Technical Manager: Audit Methodology and Strategic Projects manages the development and maintenance of the AGSA audit methodology which is aligned with the developments in the audit standards, including reviews, other assurance and related services standards, relevant legislation and the strategic objectives of the AGSA. The Senior Technical Manager is also responsible for managing the delivery on audit related strategic projects within the Audit Research and Development unit of the AGSA.
This job requires an authoritative knowledge and understanding of the International Standards on Auditing, Reviews and Other Assurance and Related Services. Using the understanding thereof to develop and maintain an audit methodology, and provide technical guidance to audit professionals on the application of the methodology and any challenges experienced thereon. Authoritative knowledge of public sector framework legislation relevant to financial management is also essential. The Senior Technical Manager: Audit Methodology and Strategic Projects is also required to play a significant role in steering the development of audit standards and guidance applicable to the public sector through interactions with the relevant authoritative bodies and related stakeholders.
At this level the successful candidate will be required to play a significant strategic role at a business and organisational level and will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector in support of the AGSA goals and to benefit the public sector in general.
