Senior Technical Officer (Labs) (Grade 10) at Rhodes University

Main Objectives

To ensure the smooth running of the Zoology and Entomology laboratory support section of the department and to provide a technical and administrative service to the academic staff and students of the department of Zoology & Entomology and the Faculty of Science.

The Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Entomology or a related Bio-Science qualification plus approximately 2 years’ relevant experience, where such experience includes: -

• Previous experience in a scientific laboratory and use of laboratory equipment (e.g. pH meters, balances, microscopes).
• Previous experience in related biological fields and a basic knowledge of chemistry will be an advantage.

• Previous experience in supervision or in possession of an RU Supervision Certificate or registered for the course.
