Senior Technical Officer: Radio Planning and Optimisation at Vodacom

Role Purpose

We have the below H Band Senior Technical Officer: Radio Planning and Optimisation role in our Organisation. The role is within our Technology Business Unit - Limpopo Region.
The main role purpose is to plan new base stations and optimize the existing network.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership
[max 5]:

• Identify areas of poor network quality
• Manage the network performance
• Monitor the traffic and utilisation on all interfaces, and implement the necessary changes
• Conduct all site Planning and Optimisation.
• Responsible for new site integration in terms of optimisation, performance checks and announcements
• Maintain regional targets

Key performance indicators [max 3]:

• Network Experience Dashboard Report – all network performance elements

Core competencies, knowledge and experience [max 5]:

• GSM/UMTS planning and optimisation principles
• Analytical thinking Planning skills Interpersonal skill Decision Making Report Writing Problem solving Time Management Creativity Communication Technical Dexterity Computer Literacy
• Two years telecommunications experience Minimum of 12 months in the Radio Frequency
   

Education
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications

• 3 years National Diploma or Degree in Electrical (light current) or Electronic Engineering or a SAQA accredited equivalent in a related field
