Senior Technician: Electrical Design and Planning at Swartland Local Municipality

Requirements:

• Understanding of the operation, maintenance, upgrading and extension of electrical engineering infrastructure, must be able to act independently and make decisions based on sound engineering principles and industry standards
• Electrical Protection and Metering knowledge and experience
• Code B Driver’s License
• Own Reliable Vehicle
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be able to work independently and in group context
• Good Afrikaans/English writing skills
• Good technical report writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under stressful circumstances
• Good writing, technical and calculating skills
• Fluent Afrikaans/English speaking 

Qualification: 

• National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Eligibility for registration with ECSA as a Pr Techni Eng
• Computer literacy: MS Office, CAD 

Experience:

• 10 years of relevant experience 

Job Purpose: 

• To provide a technical support function in the electrical engineering services directorate with specific focus on protection and metering and to design and cost departmental engineering projects
• To ensure implementation of construction and maintenance projects in line with cost, quality and time requirements.
• To manage and control the Radio Communication system, the departmental GIS system and deal with all Wayleave applications
