Senior Test Analyst (12-Month Contract) at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

What You'll Be Doing

Test Leadership & Strategy

• Take ownership of end-to-end testing strategy across projects and releases
• Define test approaches, plans, and coverage for complex initiatives
• Provide effort estimates, risk assessments, and input into delivery planning
• Ensure alignment with enterprise quality standards and best practices

Test Design & Execution

• Design and review high-quality test cases, scenarios, and data
• Lead execution across functional, integration, system, regression, and E2E testing
• Drive API testing and guide automation opportunities
• Ensure inclusion of non-functional testing (performance, security, usability)

Defect & Quality Management

• Own the defect lifecycle – logging, prioritisation, and resolution
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend improvements
• Provide go/no-go recommendations based on risk and quality outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with BAs, Developers, Product Owners, and PMs
• Translate technical risks into clear business insights
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
• Coach and mentor junior QA and Test Analysts
• Review test artefacts and uplift overall testing maturity
• Champion improvements in tools, processes, and practices

What You Bring

Core Experience

• 5+ years in software testing (2+ years in a senior/lead role)
• Proven ability to lead testing across multiple workstreams
• Strong experience across the full STLC lifecycle
• Exposure to complex environments (banking/financial services preferred)

Technical Skills

• Test tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr
• API testing: Postman
• Strong SQL skills for data validation
• Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
• Experience in Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and CI/CD environments

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in IT or related field
• ISTQB Advanced Certification (advantageous)
