Senior Trader: FX at Nedbank

Job Purpose

• To drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability through franchise trading and market-making activities, while providing transparent and liquid markets that strengthen NCIB Markets’ profile, client franchise, and market presence.
• The role is responsible for managing risk within approved limits and regulatory requirements, contributing to business growth through trading, system, and risk initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, engage, and execute strategy and business achievement to ensure team profitability in line with agreed budget.
• Achieve budgets by franchise trading and effective management of risk.
• Monitor market trends by researching and engaging with stakeholders on competitor activity.
• Grow profitability by streamlining processes, providing bespoke products and solutions, retaining clients, and encouraging cross selling.
• Build relationships with all necessary stakeholders to deliver on the client value proposition.
• Participate in industry forums to contribute to evolution of the market and market standards.
• Ensure adherence to all market, credit, operational and reputational risk limits, and guidelines.
• Meet business and legislative requirements.
• Ensure trading process optimisation for the current and new regions.

Essential Qualifications

• Relevant S.T.E.M degree

Preferred Qualification

• Post graduate degree in Mathematics or Statistics

Preferred Certifications

• Applicable market and regulatory qualifications (RPE, ACI, JSE Traders Exam). 
• While preferred at appointment, these certifications must be obtained and maintained where required for the effective fulfilment of role responsibilities and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Experience Level

• 3 years’ experience in Global Markets market making and trading risk on SA and Africa FX derivative products.
