Service Technician at Valmet

• We are currently looking for a Service Technician to join our team in Secunda, South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys problem-solving, working on-site, and supporting customers in keeping their operations running smoothly.

Your Role

• The primary purpose of this role is to maintain, repair, and service customer production equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

You will:

• Install, service, and upgrade equipment according to detailed instructions and work orders
• Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure consistent and reliable equipment performance
• Maintain accurate service records to track equipment condition and identify recurring issues
• Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical issues related to processes, machinery, or tools
• Follow defined processes and work methods, with supervision provided when required
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies during all service activities
• You will report directly to the Service Supervisor.

Requirements

• Matric qualification and a Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering or Instrumentation
• Experience or knowledge of valves will be considered a strong advantage
• Availability to travel up to 15% of working time to customer sites in South Africa or abroad
• Fluency in English is essential
• A valid EB driving license is required, while a C1 license would be advantageous
• Additional certifications such as forklift and crane driving licenses are also beneficial
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite is required.
