ServiceNow Configuration Specialist at Absa South Africa

Job Summary

This position will require deep configuration on a Specialist level within ServiceNow across all applications including Services Configuration, Case and Knowledge management, Portals, Mobile Application, Performance Analytics and Virtual Agent. Working alongside a Strategic Lead and other Configurators, ensuring optimal operation of the overall functional area. It will include but not be limited to complex testing, business process design, process implementation, analysis and maintenance in the light of best practice recommendations and creating insightful dashboards and reports.

Job Description

Key accountabilities

• Configure and support existing applications and add new functionality as necessary

• Ensures requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification

• Coordinate test activities, including unit testing, system testing and user acceptance testing

• Plan ahead and deploy bi-annual feature releases

• Play a key role in design to implementation of feature releases and change requests

• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues, error identification and remediation

• Works with the Strategic Lead to develop release estimates

• Provide technical assistance to Tier1 teams, managing severity issues and setting prioritization for resolution

• Emphasis on providing an optimal user experience and thereby ensuring up to date features, deployments and initiatives for optimal platform usage

• Create advanced reports and dashboards including using performance analytics

• Ongoing input and recommendations for continuous improvement and evaluation of system functionality

• Maintain the stability and useability of the platform across production and non-production environments

• Platform upgrade execution

• Manage instance security: user/group access, administration, access control lists, etc

• Train and mentor developers

• Create functional and technical systems documentation

• Participate in process design workshops

• Determine and implement integration method(s) used, integration directionality and attributes

• Template Creation and Updates

• Configure Catalog Items and Record Producers

Education

National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Computer and Information Science (Required)
