    Services, Scheduling and Planning Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • Maintenance of utilities plant equipment, planning of maintenance activities to ensure efficiency of the plant equipment. Condition monitoring of machine performance, services usage of ( kWh/ton, GJ/ton, m3/ton) legal compliance of all mechanical legally binding plant equipment, ensure at least 98% availability of plant services , equipment function at the designed line rate and meet food quality standards and business required volumes. Plan maintenance activities to support the business demand.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    SAFETY:            

    • TRIR, Ensure that plant equipment is in a reliable, safe and operational condition according to McCain standards and Key Elements of Safety. Compliance with OHSACT rules and regulations as well as legally binding statutory services of plant equipment. Support plant with spares and stores activities.  

    QUALITY:         

    • Pass all Quality audits. Food safety requirements, - AIB and HACCP, Support GMP initiatives  

    DELIVERY:        

    • 98% equipment availability. Preventative maintenance, planning and scheduling of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as statutory services of all legally binding equipment on site. Lead the planning and scheduling program in plant to execute schedules. Control of stock levels to ensure plant support.

    COST:  

    • 0% deviation from budget, through effective planning and maintenance of plant equipment ensure costs are kept within budget monthly until financial year end. Compile schedule costs, frequency of schedule impact in the stores, project costs and make recommendation regarding cost savings. Support SCA initiatives in plant and department

    • Support energy management on site with plant optimization on energy. Close monitoring and fine tune the consumption of coal, electricity kWh on compressors, ammonia plant and cold stores.

    • Manage a diverse cultural team within department taking cognizance of employee’s backgrounds and skill levels. Be pro-active and forward thinking regarding challenges and problem solving. Display resilience during difficult times and have courageous discussions with underperformers. Must be able to collaborate with other departments

    ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES

    • Work independently with limited supervision
    • Must be able to coordinate work activities and ensuring that all work gets done as scheduled
    • Must have good follow-up systems and adept at handling different tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to integrate work from various discipline on a shutdown plan
    • Must be able to bounce back when faced with 

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Min 5 Years’ experience in a FMCG industry as site services manager and maintenance planner for plant. Experience in utilities such as boilers, compressed air and ammonia systems. Experience in maintenance approaches such as reliability-centered maintenance will be an added advantage. Experience in planning and scheduling of maintenance work on SAP and/or similar systems is a requirement.

    LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

    • OHSA GMR 2.7a appointee. Must have a good understanding of legal requirements associated with pressurized systems (PER).

    ON-THE-JOB TRAINING REQUIRED

    • Utilities systems, site services, SAP, Coupa , Prometheus, PowerBI, condition monitoring, KES and KEFSQ.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Matric/ Gr 12/ STD 10
    • N6 Qualification/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Certificates: Millwright/Fitter or electrical trade test certificate
