An appropriate minimum qualification (MBChB/MBBCh) that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner for the year 2026/2027. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure.
Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. At least 1year experience in surgery department post community service and BLS/ATLS will be an added advantage.
Duties :
Deliver evidence-based, quality patient care. Manage general surgery patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, ward, and SOPD, which includes ward rounds, resuscitation, examination, and perioperative management.
Participate in the training of interns and junior medical officers. Complete medico-legal documentation promptly (e.g., death certificates). Ensure that departmental administration and record keeping are maintained.
