Silos Controller at RCL Foods

Job Description

• RCL FOODS is seeking a Silos Controller to join our Cullinary and Petfood division. The role will be based in Randfontein and reports to the Unit Manager.
• The Silos Controller role is critical to ensure seamless silos operations, which feeds into the value chain of Pet Food, Oil Packing, and Sorghum Operations.
• A key deliverable for the Silos Controller role is stock control, people management, variances management, partnering with Procurement, and adhering to SHERQ principles. This role is focused on delivery in these areas.

Minimum Requirements    

•  NQF Level 6 National Diploma / Degree  in Agriculture, Engineering, or related field

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Oversee all Silos operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing grain
• Develop and implement Silos maintenance and repair schedules
• Ensure compliance with safety, Quality and environmental regulations
• Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely delivery of grain
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure healthy Stock on Hands of grains
• Supervise silos employees and ensure their training and development
• Monitor and report on silos performance metrics
• Develop and implement strategies to improve silos efficiency and profitability
• Manage stock rotations on silos
• Manage stock variances on silos
• 3 – 5 years minimum experience in FMCG, preferably a foods processing environment.
