Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, with a specific emphasis on supply chain procurement contracts within the mining sector
Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements, company/client policies, and industry standards
Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial contracts and provide strategic advice on risk mitigation
Conduct negotiations with suppliers and other third parties to achieve favorable terms for clients
Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically in addressing legal and business challenges
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a legal team
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities efficiently
Minimum Criteria:
Legal degree and admitted attorney with commercial contracting expertise
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial/legal environment
Cape Town based / willing to relocate immediately
Proven track record of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts (within the procurement domain)
